Perhaps the poet William Blake got it right when he inscribed “As a man is, so he sees,” in 1795 or so, when he also printed his ‘Elohim creating Adam’ watercolor. His seemingly conventional religious artistry was a more than poetic expression of a life lived in poverty, awareness, beauty and truth. He would – perhaps we would – call that a ‘rich’ life yes – an enriched life fully lived because fully realized. Blakes’ vision is timeless; it reaches, it touches upon, it is, the infinite.
The infinite is, timelessly – life itself, spirit, formless and in form, apparently; Self, Reality, Brahmin, etc. And one is all that. That present, alert changeless awareness ‘behind the mind’; feelings, sensations and perceptions, etc. so to speak. Some call that choice-free nature ‘love.’ It’s an aware Love that’s not conditioned – not limited and programed with individual and collective prejudices. That discerns and does not discriminate. In fine, that is Love, loving itself. 🙂
