HAPPINESS LIES IN LETTING WHAT’S HAPPENING, HAPPEN.
On aging without growing old, on peacefully living well and truly, just say ‘yes’.
When asked what his secret to aware living is, J Krishnamurti replied: “I don’t mind what happens.” Ah, good old reality! We each seem to find our way like a river to the ocean of Oneness. For some of us ‘miners’, like me, we had to finally, actually, really, stop digging. In my case, it meant giving up everything that “I” (my conditioning) cherished…we lighten and grow in that unqualified, unfiltered light.
The best we can ‘do’ is sit by our window(s) and bring open, unfiltered, and loving attention to alert watching. Simply, internally, watch the movements of the mind, allow all that’s coming and going, to pass – all the sighs, cries, and complaints; all the judgements, regrets, desires, and fears – all passes in one’s seer-less seeing. (This is meditation, without a meditator, yes.) That which is watching is what one is. Beauty lies in seeing one’s beauty, peace lies in being peaceful, love lies in loving, and joy in enjoying. Be still, be quiet; let love do all the heavy lifting.
Love and be well! 🙂
~ Bertrand Russel, philosopher and mathematician, in his early eighties: “Make your interests gradually wider and more impersonal, until bit by bit the walls of the ego recede, and your life becomes increasingly merged in the universal life. An individual human existence should be like a river — small at first, narrowly contained within its banks, and rushing passionately past rocks and over waterfalls. Gradually, the river grows wider, the banks recede, the waters flow more quietly, and in the end, without any visible break, they become merged in the sea, and painlessly lose their individual being.”
~There’s no ‘person‘ who knows, no knower; no teacher, teaching, or technique is essential. Only direct inner awareness. Love. 🙂
