How can we live with integrity in a world that seems to be disintegrating?

~ an invitation to look without thought: ~
Many of us are casting about, looking to ‘find our feet’ these days in various ways. Perhaps this is an opportune time to comment and share some of your deepest fears and understandings here; to really explore what may be appropriate ways to not habitually react but respond in fidelity with today’s apparently earth-shaking reality. To look and see thru and beyond personal and collectively cultivated prejudices and to move and act – love and live – well and truly, from one’s being.
We’ll start this conversation with the following ‘opener’ I stumbled upon this morning that may surprise and stimulate you too! Perhaps you’ll be moved to reflect, comment and contribute ‘a verse or two’. Let’s see what happens, yes. 🙂
SEEING:
~ “You are put together by society, by environmental influences, and that compels you to belong. If one is anxious to bring about a change in the world, one belongs to something – and all of us belong to various forms of beliefs, dogmas and activities. In that, we expand ourselves and identify ourselves with the thing to which we are committed. We feel we are intellectually, physically and emotionally acting as a total entity in a world that is disintegrating. Without understanding this urge to commit oneself to a particular course of action, a particular thought, a particular idea, a particular technological knowledge, to belong to something is surely an indication of pettiness.”
BEING:
~ “The thought process prevents you from looking. Just understand this, not say, ‘How am I to get to that stage when can I look without the word, without thought?’ There is no system, no path. But if you understand that you do not see anything clearly, definitely, sanely if thought interferes, then you stop thinking and look.”
~ J Krishnamurti
In fine, in looking at ‘what is’ exactly as it is, one comes directly into the non-personal – the fact. The real. Facts tell no stories. And from that thoughtless, choiceless awareness, one truly engages in a real relationship that’s vital as life, that directly meets this moment as it arises, from an alert attention, aka love, that no longer addresses mind to mind, but communes being to being.
Love, and be well.
