LIVING THE LIFE WE ALREADY KNOW.
Our born insecurities lead us to find comfort in already knowing, in believing. In defending, offending, and pretending. Good thing our being-nature is not divisive and violent, but peaceful and loving.
What with our common conditioning, most of us are furtively fumbling around in the violence and numbness of ‘already knowing,’ in believing, in “Quotations”. Indeed, there’s no such thing as an original thought. Thought – even the most apparently insightful – is cerebral, verbal, symbolic, dualizing (either/or), fadingly fragmental, memory-based and comparative and thus always and only representational. Words about words have their limited utility, of course, but most of us believe not that they tell us something ‘about’ the truth, but that they are the truth.
Mind-made renderings of reality are just that – they point, present and pretend vaguely or precisely, in the direction of ‘what is’ but are not actually – that is, non-personally, reliable indicators. They’re perhaps useful for mapping the real living territory that must be directly lived in and as being. To quote J Krishnamurti: “Thought is never intelligent… the perception of the truth is intelligence.” Perhaps, for some, that’s a useful quote; it shines a light for me these days.
My advice to myself: Look through and beyond opinion to see, and Be well. :
