NO PEACE IN ‘MY’ WORLD?
No wonder! The ‘blinded man’ statue by Banksy that just appeared in London tells it all, yes? Note the foot boldly stepping off the plinth! And, from a non-dual view, there’s more here than meets the eye. Indeed, one’s perception is totally, culturally, socially, and personally conditioned.
From one’s born insecurities, fears, and desires, we’re conditioned to see a personalized, ‘either/or, good or bad ‘world‘ called ‘reality’ which we want or don’t want. In fact, that desperate need to believe defines and shapes what we’re seeing into an apparently conforming and most often, non-conforming world of our making. Our perceptions produce a distorted and resisted experience that’s constantly, daily, distressing – unless and until that which is unseen because unexamined is brought into the light of non-personal awareness.
Unconditioned awareness – that which one IS – is the only reality from which one here and now directly perceives and experiences. Therein lies clarity. Peace. Beauty. Love and joy. Real sufficiency and happiness.
PEACE OF MIND IS ONLY FOUND IN BEING PEACEFUL.
Peace begins at home, in our heads, where we live. Stop, look, and listen in this quiet moment. That subtle awareness that’s veiled by the bling of body/mind sensations, but which is alertly watching ‘my’ mind-made, habitual conflict and confusion, is this purely unattached, innately infinite being-nature one IS. Peace.
