The present is timeless. New.
“A mind which is not crippled by memory has real freedom”
J Krishnamurti
There’s real peace in forgetting. Not functionally – we need to live, relate, enjoy, and move about efficiently – catch a bus! – but psychologically. There’s a grace in forgetting the weary drag of mind’s endlessly passing desires and fretful fears, conflicts, and confusions that it incubates and perpetuates, apparently. And lovingly, gently, forgetting the crippled ‘me’ that’s attached in ‘me’mory, to its personal pleasures and sufferings.
Indeed, there’s no joy, love, peace, or beauty in stored personal experience – that conjured ‘me’ that takes its continuity, existence, and psychological time from memory, is old, partial, fancyful and fading.
The present is timeless. New. Experiencing and immediately letting go is the dynamic joy and wonder of presently living. Being. 🙂
