THOUGHTLESSLY LIVING, WELL AND TRULY.
What with our common, 100% personal, cultural and national conditioning, most of us are furtively fumbling around in the darkness of established conformity, taking comfort in ‘already’ knowing and believing; in apparent pretensions, contentions and social conventions, and the repeated renderings of a restricted and sanctioned life that’s – in a word – a “Quotation”. Of course, part of that is necessary, instinctive, and related to our survival, including food, clothing, and shelter, but most of our fear is psychological, cultivated.
A prevailing and adjusted uniformity breeds a kind of condoned insufficiency, acceptable comfort, and fretful security with all its wanting, getting, paying, and planning for better and more, forever. And yes, there is some occasional happy camping, cooking, and playing while we swim valiantly up the stream of life. Still, some of us somehow – often from suffering – feel estranged from our original peaceful and content self-nature, and are moved out of the flow of needful things to rest on the banks of plentiful Being beyond conditioned thought.
SEEING IS BEING.
Indeed, some recognize there’s no such thing as an original thought. To quote J Krishnamurti: “Thought is never intelligent… the perception of the truth is intelligence.” Perhaps, for some, that’s a useful quote; it shines a light for me these days. 🙂 My advice to myself, and perhaps useful to some: Look through and beyond all attachment, aka opinion, to see, and be well and truly, alertly alive. 🙂
