WHAT IS MEDITATION WITH NO MEDITATOR?
“Meditation is the understanding of space, which means the freedom from any movement of time, because thought is time, thought is measure, therefore thought as time comes to an end in meditation. And in that freedom, there is silence. Not the silence between two noises, not the silence in the interval between two thoughts or between two experiences, it is beyond all that. Because it is only in complete silence the mind, which in itself is silent, can see something which is immeasurable, timeless.
All that is meditation, in which there is no experiencing at all, because experiencing implies the experiencer, the one who sees or desires experience…There is freedom from experience and therefore the mind is a light to itself. ..When the mind itself is completely alight, aware, totally attentive, such a mind does not need or demand experience because there is no experiencer.”
~ J Krishnamurti
~ Indeed, when personal belief is totally abandoned, when ‘merit’ practices and all forms of ego/mind’s efforts at becoming are surrendered, the veils conjured by mind’s beliefs may be lifted by grace alone. And in that instant, one may immediately recognize one IS already aware and directly aware of being aware. Gotta stop. look. listen. beyond beliefs, comforts of habits, pleasure, desire, and fear; look inside deeply, sincerely, and the obvious – one’s pure natural being, may present.
Most of us still think, feel, and believe there’s something to do and keep asking how? The ‘doer’ – the me, the person – has got to be totally abandoned. Let go and let be – let the mind’s movement pass in quietude; free of resistance, of knowing; rest, relax, give simple choiceless, loving – attention to what’s happening now – this living golden moment; let go and see what happens. Who knows? perhaps no one? Let that be too. Aware living is meditation without a meditator. 🙂
