What one is, is not a belief carved in stone.

“People are talking about Indian culture as though it is something extraordinary. The Indian culture they talk about is something dead, gone, finished, and you cannot live on dead things, dead tradition, dead authority, dead books, however ‘sacred’ they are.”
J Krishnamurti.
Words, believed, deaden and distract us from directly discovering our living, peaceful self-nature.
Beliefs bind; they separate, apparently. Real freedom is free of all belief; it’s beyond beliefs, conceptions and perceptions which are personal and freighted with our culturally conditioned habitual religions and rituals to console and distract us enough to avoid directly seeing all our suffering is mind-made conflicts, fears and desires – beliefs.
In aware living there’s a clear ‘seeing’ of this living fact that beliefs are predicated on what is thought to be the ‘known’ even as they seek to reassure us about the ‘unknown’. In truth, in deep self-seeing, there’s no person, no knower and nothing to be known. One can know that one is and rest fully there, in simply being, without pretending to know – or needing to know – what one is.
There’s the life, the joy and the wonder! 🙂
