Words are never true – they pinch and limit understanding.

In watching the news, and particularly in the political arena, there’s one short and wise statement by J Krishnamurti that I’m moved to share here, and which, if directly applied to much that pinches the mind’s Whirl Of Words these days, will perhaps serve to clarify that which is useful not just to know, but to apply, in daily living: “See the false as the false, the truth as the truth and the truth in the false.”
Ah, therein lies the little devilish details of deception – the renderings of false equivalency; the clever corruption of truth by mixing a pinch – say 3% – of it, with the false in order to distort and destroy, to give the appearance of ‘truth’ when in nonpersonal fact, the crafted depiction is 97% false.
In fine, while there’s much more we all could add and share here to broaden and deepen understanding, it seems relevant and therefore wise for some of us to recognize the importance of simply, directly, seeing the truth, the false, and the truth in the false. Discerning all that without discriminating is an aspect of aware, authentic living, yes. 🙂
